Wooden Wick Care

The First Burn Matters

Wooden wicks need a little extra care, especially in larger candles. On your first burn, allow enough time for the melted wax to reach the edges of the vessel. For Golden Embers, this may take approximately 4 hours. This helps encourage an even burn and reduces tunneling.

Keep Your Wick Trimmed

Before each subsequent burn, gently remove the charred portion of the wooden wick and trim it to approximately 1/8 to 1/4 inch (3–6 mm). Always trim when the candle is completely cool and the wax has hardened. A properly trimmed wick helps maintain a steady flame and prevent excessive soot.

Enjoy Easier Burns Afterward

Once your candle has established an even melt pool, subsequent burns will generally reach a full melt pool more quickly. Continue keeping the wick trimmed and allow the wax to melt evenly for the best experience.

A Few Important Reminders

• Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

• Always burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts.

• Never leave a burning candle unattended.

• Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings and debris.

• Allow the candle to cool completely before relighting.

• Stop burning when approximately 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel.
